Monthly Socials are held during the high season, usually, on the first Tuesday of each month starting in October and ending in June. Local restaurants, country clubs and hotels are used as our venues. Timing is for a couple of hours pre-dinner. “Happy Hour” specials on food and drinks are generally offered. Members are responsible for their own drinks and any purchased food.
The annual March social event is an “Annual Dinner” event to thank all our hike leaders and co-ordinating council members for all their hard work & time spent. This dinner has a cost for all members that attend. Members must register and remit payment in advance to attend this annual event.
Members are sent Evites in advance with time and place of the Socials. Members can bring a friend offering an excellent opportunity for prospective members to see what we are all about and to meet some of the existing club members.
Gauging by the number and smiles on the faces of attendees, these outings are quite popular. It is a great way to meet new friends as well as catch up on the latest hiking news.
E-mail “Evites” are sent out to our Members with internet access. The current Hiking Schedule may have the details if scheduled well enough in advance. Be sure to add “email@example.com” to your safe list.
If you do not have internet access, check the Schedule, and call in your R.S.V.P. to the phone number provided. Please R.S.V.P. by the Friday before the Social. You do NOT need to call and confirm if you have answered the Evite. All Evites contain a map and directions.
Don’t forget: tip your waiter/waitress if it is not already included for any ‘pre-pay’ Socials!
